When Dillon and I were homeless for a few days before we could move into our NYC apartment, we decided to take a short, spontaneous trip to Philadelphia. What I didn’t know was how easy it would be to get there, for $16 each we took a MegaBus only one and a half hours from NYC to Philly!
The first day we spent touring around the historic sites from the Revolution era: Independence Hall where the Constitution was signed, the Liberty Bell and historic streets downtown. Of course we tried the famous ice cream at The Franklin Fountain where I had the best mint chip flavor of my life!
The next day was my favorite… we walked the MURAL MILE. Don’t be fooled by it’s name, it is definitely longer than one mile. We walked all around Philadelphia checking out the 20+ massive murals all over the city. The pictures show a couple of my favorites. Along the way, we visited Reading Terminal Market, ate Philly cheesesteaks at Jim’s Steaks, saw the new LDS temple, played in the Swann Fountain and ended the day with a nice view from the “Rocky Steps”. I’ve never walked so much in one day in my life.
The next morning we took it easy with brunch and a stroll through U Penn’s campus before bussing back to the Big Apple!
